Senior Construction Laborer

Position Summary

LaMontagne Builders is seeking a Senior Construction Laborer to manage the operation and execution of residential construction projects. The primary responsibilities include operating a telehandler, assisting in construction activities, managing material staging, and supporting supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate the telehandler for loading/unloading materials
• Operate the telehandler as a man lift when properly equipped
• Affix to construction of residential buildings
• Perform minor maintenance duties on the telehandler (greasing, daily inspections, checking fluid levels)
• Manage material staging areas and inventory
• Oversee waste management and general cleanliness of the site
• Support supervisors in inventory management (receiving deliveries, reporting shortages, tracking materials used, communicating site needs)
• Affix to the setup and teardown of temporary facilities, fencing, signage, and erosion control devices

Qualifications

• High-school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years' experience in residential construction using heavy equipment
• Certified telehandler operator (preferred)
• Strong understanding of construction site logistics and operations
• Dependable, self-motivated, and adaptable to changing conditions on site

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
• Must be able to operate heavy equipment safely for extended periods
• Must be able to perform activities such as carrying heavy loads, shoveling, sweeping, hammering, and other basic construction laborer activities
• Maintain a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
