RK&K is seeking Senior Construction Inspectors with experience in delivering terminal projects, specifically in aviation, to work onsite in Norfolk, VA. These positions will support various aviation-related projects, including terminal expansion, building facilities, and airfield pavement improvements. The expected duration for these positions will depend on project assignments and should span from early 2026 through 2029.
Responsibilities
- Oversee construction projects as an inspector, ensuring the contractor’s work complies with the construction plans and specifications for airfield and landside civil and architectural projects, including taxiways, aprons, parking lots, roadways, bridges, and parking garages.
- Monitor on-site construction quality control testing.
- Conduct inspections, observations of construction progress, and materials testing; verify construction work.
- Receive general supervision from and assist the Construction Management team in the performance of their duties.
- Monitor conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.
- Perform daily field inspections and maintain inspection records.
- Participate in punch lists, testing, and commissioning.
- Track quality assurance progress.
- Write daily construction reports.
Requirements
- High school Diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- US Citizenship is required due to the nature of the projects associated with this position.
- Valid US Driver’s License required to visit project sites.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two (2) years of construction inspection.
- DEQ Erosion and Sediment Control/Stormwater Inspector Certification.
- VDOT/NICET Inspection Certifications.
