About the role

Mead & Hunt has an exceptional opportunity for highly motivated construction inspectors for projects in Columbia, MD. An Experienced Construction Inspector will be responsible for providing inspection services for transportation construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all work and materials used are in compliance with the proposal, plans, and specifications
• Perform required calculations, take measurements, and verify weights and volumes as needed
• Plot and run cross sections and prepare "as builds" during progress of the project
• Perform materials testing
• Document inspected work daily

Requirements

• Successful candidates will hold at least four applicable certifications (ACI, MARTCP, TTCM, E&S, SHA Yellow Card) AND
• A bachelor's degree in construction management or related field plus four years relevant experience OR
• An associate degree in construction management or related field plus six years relevant experience OR
• No degree with at least eight years relevant experience
• This position requires heavy lifting, working outside in a variety of conditions on a regular basis, and ability to perform work independently
• Travel to construction sites throughout the state is an essential function of this position; a valid driver's license is required
• Extended hours and overnight stays may be required

Ideal Candidates Will Have

Pay

Hourly Rate Range: $39.90 to $45.00 - Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience, skill set or location.
