Senior Construction Inspector
Responsibilities
- Read and understand plans and specifications to determine information for inspection work items during and after construction.
- Monitor and inspect construction projects, including quality assurance.
- Ensure contractors follow the project plans and specifications in accordance with applicable construction procedures, methods, and codes.
- Track workers and equipment on project.
- Review testing reports (soils, aggregate, steel, concrete, HMA, masonry, etc.).
- Document the construction progress with site reports, photos, etc.
- Monitor construction schedule (Critical Path Method) to ensure project is on schedule.
- Facilitate communications between owners, contractors, and designers on a project.
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED required.
- 5+ years of construction engineering/inspection experience required.
- ACI and NETTCP concrete inspector certification, or NETTCP paving certification required.
- 10-hour OSHA certification required.
- Expertise in federally aided transportation projects as a construction inspector preferred.
- Experience working with/for MaineDOT and/or municipal clients.
- Valid US driver's license required.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.

$35.00 to $40.00 per hour (depending on qualifications)
