About the role

The ideal candidate will provide detailed and accurate cost estimates for electrical systems in construction projects, ensuring effective cost management and project success.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for electrical systems in construction projects.
• Review project plans and specifications to determine the scope of work and required materials.
• Lead the development of comprehensive cost management plans with project teams.
• Analyze project requirements and provide value engineering options.
• Perform cost risk analysis and provide input into value engineering.
• Communicate and collaborate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Utilize industry-specific estimating software and tools to prepare estimates.
• Provide estimating advice, guidance, and analysis to project stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry-specific estimating processes and methodologies.
• Prepare formal estimating reports, including quantity, cost, escalation, and other assumptions and clarifications.
• Mentor and support junior estimators, fostering their professional development and promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Adhere to SOX control responsibilities where applicable.
• Work as part of a team providing estimating support activities across a variety of life science sector projects and programmes, including pharmaceutical manufacturing, R&D facilities, and CGMP facilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a field related to construction.
• Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in a construction cost management role such as Cost Manager, Quantity Surveyor, Estimator, Cost Engineer, Project Engineer, or Project Cost Controls.
• Experience providing conceptual estimating services and/or pre-construction services at a construction management or related firm.
• Experience supporting large-scale construction projects and programs.
• Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as value management and value engineering.
• Excellent communication skills.

Pay

The salary range for this full-time role is $135,000–$170,000 per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent base salary only. Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate’s experience and qualifications.
