For Internal Use Only About The Position As a Senior Estimator at Power Design, you’ll lead the development of accurate, detailed, and competitive project estimates across multiple disciplines — from electrical and mechanical to low voltage, systems, and energy. You will play a key role in managing the estimating process, supporting operations, and ensuring projects meet financial and strategic goals. Based at our corporate headquarters in St. Petersburg, Florida, this position partners with Preconstruction, Engineering, and Operations teams to deliver pricing strategies and innovative solutions that align with Power Design’s standards of quality, safety, and excellence. Position Responsibilities Lead estimating efforts for large-scale, complex projects across multiple scopes (electrical, mechanical, low voltage, systems, energy, etc.)Prepare and deliver detailed estimates, material takeoffs, labor analyses, and cost breakdownsReview design and construction documents to identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering alternativesCollaborate with clients, consultants, and internal teams to define project requirements and ensure complete, code-compliant estimatesMentor and support junior and associate estimators in estimating techniques and softwareManage and oversee the preparation of bid documents and contract scope reviewsApply thorough knowledge of product pricing, subcontractor management, and market conditionsEnsure all estimates comply with Power Design’s standards, policies, and proceduresLead the onboarding experience for new team members and foster a culture of collaboration and professional growthProvide proactive leadership through effective communication, delegation, and performance feedbackDemonstrate and uphold Power Design’s core values of integrity, accountability, teamwork, innovation, and growth Here’s What We’re Looking For Internal candidates: Approximately 5–7 years in an Estimator-level role with a Corporate Manager recommendation and proven ability to independently manage proposals for diverse building types (e.g., garden style, high density, high rise)External candidates: Bachelor’s degree or Journeyman’s license (or industry equivalent) with 8+ years of estimating experience in relevant disciplinesStrong knowledge of estimating processes, cost control, and project budgetingProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Bluebeam, and estimating software (such as ConEST or Accubid)Excellent analytical, organizational, and decision-making abilitiesProven experience managing multiple bids and deadlines with accuracy and efficiencyStrong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain high-trust relationshipsAbility to lead by example, develop others, and foster engagement within the teamCommitment to Power Design’s leadership strategy and culture of continuous improvement At Power Design, we are committed to providing an environment of mutual respect where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants and teammates without regard to race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy, national origin, age, physical and mental disability, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, genetic information, military and veteran status, and any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
