About the role
We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist with expertise in computer vision and predictive maintenance to join our team. The ideal candidate will work closely with industrial customers to develop predictive maintenance systems using AI and physics-based inputs.
Responsibilities
- Develop pipelines that integrate periodic inspection imagery with equipment operating history and physics-based inputs to predict remaining component life.
- Build and deploy reliable, scalable ML pipelines within enterprise cloud environments.
- Work directly with domain experts and customers to translate physical intuition into modelling decisions.
- Ensure models are interpretable and actionable for engineers and operators.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in selecting, adapting, and fine-tuning pretrained vision encoders for industrial or scientific imaging problems.
- Strong command of gradient-based interpretability methods and the ability to produce sensitivity maps.
- Proven ability to build joint models combining visual features with heterogeneous inputs.
- Hands-on experience with probabilistic or Bayesian output modelling and uncertainty quantification.
- Production ML mindset - architecting and shipping reliable, scalable pipelines.
Qualifications
- PhD or equivalent research experience in computer vision, machine learning, or a related field.
- Experience with physics-informed or hybrid ML approaches.
- Domain experience in aerospace, energy, heavy industry, mining, or MRO.
Skills
- Deep expertise in computer vision and applied deep learning.
- Ability to take foundational knowledge into production on real-world industrial problems.
- Comfortable working directly with domain experts and customers.
- Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.

Pay
$120,000 - 240,000 depending on experience
