Senior Compliance Officer

About the role

The Senior Compliance Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing an effective Compliance program which promotes the attainment of Albany Medical Center's goals and objectives while adhering to applicable laws, rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an effective Compliance program to enhance the culture of compliance and to minimize related enterprise risk to the Center’s mission.
• Respond to instances of non-compliance and promote compliance within designated areas.
• Provide independent and objective review of evidence related to compliance issues.
• Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk.
• Develop corrective action plans for resolution of problematic matters.
• Supervise staff in a matrix model, collaborating with other Senior-level managers and the CCO to minimize overall enterprise risk to AMC.
• Ensure each person is able to perform their duties by virtue of education, training, or other skills required of the position.
• Maintain a written compliance program and plan of sufficient detail to detect instances of non-compliance.
• Monitor individual performance in sufficient detail to assess individual competence and effectiveness.
• Enforce compliance with Center directives and other applicable laws, rules, and regulations.

Requirements

• Advanced degree or professional certifications in related fields.
• A minimum of 5 to 7 years of progressively responsible professional experience.
