Your Specific Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical Services, professional support and technical assistance to the staff, community agencies, and the general public.
  • Work in a busy clinic setting with a variety of duties in Immunizations, Family Planning, STD and Laboratory services.
  • Perform duties at multiple sites within the county, including Florida Department of Health in Volusia County locations and sites established/co-located within the community in conjunction with community partners.
  • Arrive at assigned location daily on time at the provided start time.
  • Maintain orderliness of Medication Room and medication inventory, including verifying inventory, ordering medications, logging inventory, and performing other tasks as outlined.
  • Provide clinical services at community-based outreach clinics, including family planning, immunizations, and STD screening and treatment.
  • Issue prescribed medications/birth control/ECP per DOH-Volusia Nurse Issuance Protocol and/or under the direction of a provider.
  • Administer injectable medications/birth control/immunizations as indicated.
  • Perform phlebotomy services and routine laboratory testing, including pregnancy tests, rapid Syphilis, and HIV.
  • Review and update vaccination records, providing direct immunization services according to CDC, ACIP, VFC, FDOH, and DOH-Volusia guidelines.
  • Assist providers with examinations, physicals, and other procedures as necessary.
  • Manage medication room and inventory, ensuring accurate and timely removal of outdated medications and updating inventory logs.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • The ability to communicate, build rapport, and effectively educate teens, young adults, and adults on sexually transmitted diseases, family planning, pregnancy, and immunizations.
  • The ability to perform various clinical tasks such as administering medications, giving immunizations, changing medical dressings, and drawing blood for testing.

Qualifications

  • Current authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
  • A valid RN licensure in the State of Florida in accordance with Florida Statutes.
