About the role

Support purchasing activities within the Sustainable Power organization, contributing to the coordination of supplier related tasks and ensuring alignment with established purchasing processes. Work within an international team setting and help facilitate the transition toward new technologies while maintaining support for the existing supplier base. Regularly interact with suppliers as well as various Volvo business areas and functions, including R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and Logistics.

Responsibilities

  • Be part of the Sustainable Power Global Commodity team, providing input and participating in activities connected to selected sub commodities as assigned.
  • Support the Global Commodity Manager in sourcing activities for assigned components in line with established QSCC expectations.
  • Participate in evaluations, selections, and supplier follow-up according to Volvo CE processes.
  • Contribute to sub commodity strategies and related documentation.
  • Coordinate activities aimed at optimizing and improving the supplier base.
  • Coordinate information flow across internal stakeholders (Quality, Logistics, R&D, Supplier Development).
  • Support Regional Commodity meetings and, when assigned, coordinate and drive meeting activities and follow-up actions.
  • Facilitate communication on commodity related topics within the region.
  • Conduct and participate in commercial discussions with suppliers and, when assigned, coordinate and drive the implementation of agreed commercial terms.
  • Contribute to the preparation of long-term agreements and related documentation.
  • Support purchasing activities within production (OTD) and engineering (PPD).
  • Support performance tracking for Quality, Delivery, and Cost (QDC).
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities and, when assigned, coordinate and drive improvement tasks in line with Volvo CE principles.
  • Assist in actions related to warranty cost recovery.
  • Support project teams in supplier related tasks such as cost targets and proposals.
  • Register purchasing agreements in the PAM system.
  • Work according to Volvo CE processes, the Volvo Way, and Volvo values and behaviors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or foreign degree equivalent in business, engineering or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in the job offered or in buying major commodities in construction equipment.
  • Experience with global supply and applying problem-solving techniques including root cause analysis.

Pay

$102,918 to $103,605/Year

Schedule

Occasional telecommuting permitted in Shippensburg area.
