About the role

This role leads commissioning strategy across multiple projects, overseeing commissioning managers and commissioning agents. The responsibilities include developing and implementing commissioning plans, managing the commissioning process, and ensuring proper documentation and testing of equipment and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Leads commissioning strategy across multiple projects
  • Oversees commissioning managers and commissioning agents
  • Develops and implements commissioning plans, schedules, and procedures for construction projects
  • Collaborates with design and construction teams to review project requirements and ensure commissioning activities are integrated into the master project schedule
  • Manages the commissioning process for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, building controls, and other critical systems
  • Coordinates with subcontractors and construction team members to manage the commissioning process
  • Ensures proper documentation of commissioning activities, test results, and equipment certifications
  • Works with user groups to ensure a smooth transition from construction to operation
  • Schedules and reviews factory witness testing
  • Coordinates and verifies site acceptance verifications
  • Ensures all testing L1-L5 is properly performed and documented
  • Writes and tracks RFI's and documents general best practices and procedures
  • Prepares for and manages materials necessary for commissioning process
  • Manages commissioning teams for each scope including mechanical, electrical, controls, and CxA
  • Develops and prepares comprehensive commissioning schedule
  • Participates in job closeout process
  • Maintains a safe working environment for all employees and site visitors
  • Understands and builds a commissioning schedule
  • Ensures detailed commissioning schedule is met
  • Proactively mitigates unforeseen constraints and assists in implementing plans to maintain or recover schedule
  • Communicates unresolved constraints and impacts in a timely manner and provides mitigation plans
  • Affords assistance in ensuring most up-to-date project documents are supplied to subcontractors and CxA
  • Assists with redlining and updating drawings as progress is made through commissioning
  • Provides technical and procedural commissioning direction to internal and external shareholders
  • Understands equipment issue priorities and drives issue resolution
  • Strong understanding of LOTO and energy management throughout testing evolutions

Requirements

  • 8+ years commissioning or mission critical systems experience
  • Program-level leadership experience
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and building controls systems
  • Strong understanding of industry standards and guidelines related to construction and commissioning
  • Campus or hyperscale programs preferred
  • Owner/Operator-side commissioning experience preferred
  • CxAlloy preferred
  • Experience with commissioning tools, equipment, and software applications
  • Effective project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders including clients, user groups, and commissioning agents
  • Proficient use of all Microsoft Office programs
