Senior Commissioning Engineer

About the role

This position is in the Technical Assurance Group within Clayco. This department is a specialized assembly of professionals focusing on the design and construction verification of our buildings, specifically the architectural and engineering components. We are involved in projects from early concept to post-construction seasonal testing. Our department specializes in being intimately involved throughout the life of the project. Since we are specialized, we focus on having routine training whether it be in-house on how we perform our work or with external for industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Review commissioning plans and documentation, including testing schedules.
• Aid in completing commissioning activities on the project site.
• Coordinate with the Operations Team and Project Management team on schedule, budget, training, and issues that arise.
• Perform pre-commissioning and start-up verifications to confirm the project is ready for commissioning activities.
• Create and schedule updates and reports on any commissioning issues in a timely manner to all necessary parties.
• Execute the project-specific functional tests and document all performance.
• Document and help to resolve any deficiencies found in installation or operation of equipment/systems.
• Prepare for the transition to the client after final inspections and commissioning processes are complete.
• Work on multiple projects, each with different levels of schedule completion.
• Perform other duties as necessary.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• 3-7 years of commissioning experience.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of commissioning processes and procedures.
• Ability to coordinate with various teams and stakeholders.
• Proficiency in documenting and reporting on commissioning activities.
• Experience with project management tools and software.

The salary range for this position considers a wide range of factors in making compensation decisions including but not limited to: Education, qualifications, skills, training, experience, certifications, internal equity, and location. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
