SUMMARY/JOB PURPOSE
The position will be accountable for contributing to cross-functional initiatives to advance the development of Zanzalintinib, Exelixis’ oral multi-TKI in late-phase development. This position will provide critical information and advice to Exelixis leadership.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Provide commercial assessment and develop revenue forecasts for potential indications to inform Ph3 Go/No-Go decisions and to support business planning
- Plan and execute primary and secondary market research to support commercial opportunity assessment, revenue forecast assumptions, and address unknowns in new tumor types and indications
- Develop treatment and competitive landscapes in key solid tumors to inform program development decisions
- Drive Target Product Profile (TPP) development and refinement in partnership with Development
- Generate competitive intelligence to inform pipeline strategy and competitive positioning: Monitor for competitor and disease landscape news, clinical developments, data releases, earnings releases, announcements, and other relevant disclosures
- Generate alerts of key developments for stakeholders, including senior leadership
- Attend relevant conferences and provide summaries of key presentations that contextualize data with clinical and scientific benchmarks
- Work cross-functionally with Commercial, Clinical Development, Translational Medicine, Medical Affairs, and Finance functions to generate wholistic recommendations
- Determine the appropriate analyses required to answer key business questions and generate data driven recommendations
- Provide and ensure the interpretation of complex analytical information to include Primary and Secondary Data, Forecasting, Competitive Intelligence, Scenario Planning, and other relevant sources of information and analysis
- Manage third party vendors/contractors to oversee the execution of Market Research and Competitive Intelligence
- Presentation of key deliverables to a broad range of stakeholders, including senior leadership

Education
- BS/BA degree in related discipline and 5 years of related experience
- Masters in related discipline and 3 years of related experience
- Ph.D. in related discipline
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience
- Previous experience in life sciences strategy consulting or pharma/biotech analytics is highly desirable
- Prior oncology experience highly desired with specialty product experience as a minimum
- Previous new product evaluation experience is required
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative primary research methods
- Proficiency in evaluating scientific and clinical literature to develop a perspective on evolving treatment landscapes and oncology markets
- Strong foundation in patient-based forecasting and quantitative modeling methodologies
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to be a strategic thought partner; networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise
- Ability to frame critical business questions, identify information needs to answer those questions, and determine where to best search for primary and secondary information sources
- Knowledge of key market-shaping activities and how data can support success
- Ability to navigate uncertainty and apply structured thinking and decision-making frameworks to complex business questions
- Effective presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent organizational, project management and problem-solving skills
Company Information
- Base pay range: $184,000 - $261,000 annually
- Compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets.
