Responsibilities

As Senior Commercial Manager you will be responsible for leading the commercial development of strategic opportunities within the IET Industrial Power Generation business. The role owns the end-to-end proposal strategy, until the contract finalization, for complex and high-value projects, ensuring competitive, profitable, and customer-focused solutions.

  • Leading the preparation of commercial proposals for large and complex Power Systems opportunities coordinating multidisciplinary proposal teams.
  • Defining bid strategies aligned with business objectives and market conditions.
  • Coordinating inputs from engineering, product management, supply chain, and service teams.
  • Ensuring proposals are complete, compliant, competitive, and submitted on time.
  • Supporting strategic pursuits from early engagement through contract award.
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements, contractual obligations, and internal governance processes.
  • Driving proposal reviews, approvals, and executive presentations.
  • Developing pricing strategies that balance competitiveness and profitability.
  • Leading commercial risk analysis and mitigation planning as per internal risk governance processes and proposals preparation procedures.
  • Assessing contractual terms and negotiate commercial conditions.
  • Ensuring consistency in margins, assumptions, and commercial positioning.
  • Acting as the focal point between Sales, Application Engineers, Engineering, Finance, Legal, Supply Chain, and Execution teams.
  • Guiding internal stakeholders in developing optimized customer solutions.
  • Supporting transition from commercial phase to project execution.
  • Establishing best practices for bidding, tendering, and commercial governance.
  • Mentoring proposal managers and tendering specialists.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives to increase proposal quality and win rates.
  • Developing tools, templates, and performance metrics for commercial effectiveness.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or related disciplines from an accredited college or university and minimum 15 years of experience in a project-oriented organization.

  • Solid technical and commercial background in the Industrial Energy industry developed in customer facing roles.
  • Highly networked and exposed role requiring ability to communicate and influence at senior leadership level.
  • Experience with complex and multidisciplinary projects and able to integrate several different inputs.
  • EPC projects expertise.
  • Knowledge of rotating equipment and solutions for the Industrial Energy industry.
  • Display the ability to take ownership, execute and shape results in a global-matrix organization.
  • Fluent English (spoken and written).
  • Be willing to travel as business requires (estimated 30% of the time).
  • Have strong time management / prioritization skills.
  • Have proven capability to establish good relationships with customers and build trust.
  • Have very good business acumen and customer centric attitude.
  • Have a never-give-up attitude, problem solver, works independently.

Preferred: Have experience in: Electrical distribution systems, and /or Grid modernization projects, and /or power quality solutions.
