Senior Commercial Lines Underwriter

About the role

The Senior Commercial Lines Underwriter assists in acquiring and retaining profitable commercial lines customers through sound underwriting principles. They work with assigned agents to meet profitability and production goals, manage pricing and underwriting within an assigned territory, and develop strong agency relationships.

Responsibilities

• Work with assigned agents to meet profitability and production goals
• Manage the pricing and underwriting of an assigned territory of business
• Develop strong agency relationships
• Assist in the acquisition and retention of profitable commercial lines customers
• Follow guidelines and establish business relationships

Requirements

• Commercial lines underwriting experience
• Strong agency relationships in states such as Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and South Carolina
• Hybrid schedule in our Mid-Atlantic Office in Glen Allen, VA or field-based position in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, North or South Carolina

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree preferred
• Experience: 5+ years of commercial lines underwriting experience

Skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Pay

The salary range for this position is $83,080 - $127,945 annually. This salary range is an estimate and the actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Schedule

This position will work a hybrid schedule in our Mid-Atlantic Office in Glen Allen, VA or could be a field-based position in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, North or South Carolina.
