Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Prepare complete document/loan information packages and coordinate loan closings with Loan Servicing, Loan Officers, Attorneys, third parties, and Members.
- Ensure all loan closings, disbursement of funds processed and loan boardings are completed timely and adhere to all the closing conditions.
- Resolve any outstanding post-closing issues in a timely manner.
- Administrator for business loan origination and documentation software.
- Proficient at pipeline management with an emphasis on organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Maintain pipeline activity of closed loans, loans in progress, approved loans, including adverse action notifications in accordance with the Loan Policy and procedures as well as complying with State and Federal Regulatory requirements.
- Support the Assistant Vice President of Commercial Lending to manage the commercial loan portfolio such as the process of reviewing loan files and the process of gathering the required financial information to perform annual loan reviews, or renewals.
- Preparing financial request letters and follow up with Members and/or branch personnel to ensure timely collection of renewal package.
- Support the Assistant Vice President of Commercial Lending to ensure accurate reporting of regulatory information, including monthly/quarterly commercial loan reports as well as the special vote and modification report(s).
- Complying with regulatory and organizational policies and procedures pertinent to position regulations.
- Monitor and assist in the resolution of various exceptions and activities in order to comply with CU policies.
- Respond to internal and external loan related business member questions and requests; research and analyze information to identify broader issues, training needs, and procedural changes; and take initiative to implement necessary corrective measures.
- Initiates wire transfers for members; assists members with implementation of electronic services.
- Identifies problem loans and works with the Assistant Vice President Commercial Lending to identify and implement collection and workout solutions.
- Understands and maintains a broad level of knowledge on small business & commercial products and other credit union products and services to assist in relationship building initiatives; as well as keeping informed of loan policy, required documentation, structuring and regulatory requirements.
- Attends internal and external seminars relating to business lending and regulatory requirements.
- Works with staff in the development of overall department operating policies, procedures and best practices.
- Opens membership and deposit accounts. Upon member request, conducts escrow analysis for property taxes and coordinates the creation of escrow accounts with Loan Servicing.
- Coincides commercial construction loan advances; coordinates advances against lines of credit, obtain appropriate approvals, ensures availability, formula requirements and maintains accurate records.
- Play an active role in department or organizational projects as directed, and assumes additional responsibilities as requested.
Knowledge And Skills
- Experience: 4-7 years of related commercial lending/banking experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Education: Associate’s degree in related field.
- Interpersonal Skills: Problem solving – the individual will demonstrate solid judgment, problem solving, and decision-making skills; will apply knowledge and experience to develop solutions and solve problems independently; will resolve problems in a timely manner, gather and analyze information skillfully, and will implement appropriate corrective action. Manages vendors and third-party service providers.
- Other Skills: The individual must be organized and detail-oriented. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Proficient with the following software programs: Miser Core System; Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook; Internet applications. Familiarity with the Salesforce platform is a plus.
