About the role

The Senior Commercial Counsel will play a crucial role in the Legal Team of a high-growth, fast-paced, mission-driven company. They will handle commercial negotiations, provide legal support for channel partners, assist with various legal matters, and advise on complex legal issues.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and negotiate commercial agreements, including strategic transactions, partner agreements, license agreements, SaaS and professional service agreements, data processing agreements, and vendor contracts.
  • Support channel partner activities, including MSP, VAR, distribution, SI, etc.
  • Assist with other legal matters such as product launch support, collections, human resources, and litigation matters.
  • Handle day-to-day legal inquiries and collaborate with other legal team members and business units/departments.
  • Deal with ad hoc legal matters, including corporate entity support, risk assessments, compliance documentation, data privacy assessments and reviews.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctorate required.
  • 8+ years substantive experience in providing legal advice in an international corporate environment.
  • Previous experience in supporting a sales team in a technology company, SaaS, and channel partner program experience preferred.
  • Experience on product and offering launches preferred.
  • Commercial mindset: team player with the ability to work with cross-functional departments and manage risk appropriately.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to organize and work across multiple projects and multiple time zones.
  • Self-driven, resourceful, results and deadline oriented, and highly multi-task proficient.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing business environment.
  • English + knowledge of any other language is an advantage.
