SENIOR COACH COUNSELOR

The Role

Rite of Passage Team is hiring a Senior Coach Counselor at the Qualifying Houses in South Lake Tahoe, CA.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety and around-the-clock supervision of at-risk youth.
• Support the physical, personal, and health needs of each student through individual counseling and skill development.
• Create a supportive atmosphere for students’ needs.
• Maintain and document student behaviors and activities.
• Collaborate with other professionals to meet each student’s treatment plan goals.

Requirements

• Be empathetic, patient, consistent, compassionate, have an honest work ethic, and treat others with respect.
• Be at least 21 years old.
• Internal applicants must have at least standard performance and 90 days of experience as a Coach Counselor or high Direct Care Position.
• External candidates must have 1 year of experience working with at-risk youth in a similar position as a Coach Counselor or higher Direct Care position, or at least 60 hours of college education in a directly related field of study.
• Pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test.
• Pass a search of the child abuse central registry.
