A day in the life

As a Mid-CNO Middleware Developer, you will support a large mission-focused team of software, systems, and security engineers in the development and deployment of visualization analyst tools for the greater good. Responsibilities include:

  • Provide design ideas for new capabilities or recommendations for improvements to existing capabilities.
  • Communicate status with leadership and customers.
  • Contribute to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects.
  • Provide solutions to a variety of complex technical problems.
  • Analyze system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming.
  • Ensure software standards are met.
  • Lead the design, development, documenting, testing, and debugging of applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
  • Potentially lead a project developing hardware or software-based CNO capabilities, and provide direction to other CNO developers.
  • Plan and conduct assignments, generally involving the larger and more important projects or more than one project.

What you bring to the table

  • 10+ years of experience as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Expert knowledge of multiple programming languages such as Ruby, Python, or Perl.
  • Strong ability to analyze existing software to generate software wrappers required to automate input/output between discrete software packages.
  • Demonstrated ability to combine multiple software projects together using scriptable languages.
  • Familiarity with multiple software development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, TDD, Waterfall).
  • Expert level knowledge of security concepts, networks, device drivers, & system internals.
  • Expert knowledge in at least one technology area (e.g., Windows, Unix, Mobile, Network devices).
  • Software Analysis/Reverse Engineering experience.
  • Embedded systems development experience.
  • A solid understanding of assembly programming concepts.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, or 4 years of additional software engineering experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
  • An active US Government TS/SCI security clearance with Polygraph.

Salary Range: Disclosed pay ranges are a general guideline, and are not a guarantee of a final salary or compensation. Our approach in determining final salaries takes into consideration a number of factors such as education, certifications, total years of relevant professional experience, actual level of expertise, and the responsibilities of the role itself. The projected pay range for this position is: $165,000 - $235,000.
