Senior CNA - Full Time Evenings

About the role

The Senior Nursing Assistant (NA) at Good Samaritan Society – Mandan Sunset provides comprehensive care to residents, focusing on physical and psychological needs as outlined in the care plan. This role involves assisting other staff, performing various tasks, and maintaining a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Assists residents with daily living activities such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, undressing, obtaining and recording vital signs, and providing psychosocial support.
• Supports transfers, repositioning, and walking using correct techniques and equipment, and performs range of motion and passive exercises.
• Aids providers and nursing staff members with procedures, if needed.
• Documents resident interactions and care outcomes, communicates changes in resident condition, and participates in wellness and recreational programs.
• May lead restorative nursing programs and complete related documentation and scheduling.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age of 16.
• Two years' clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification from the State Board of Nursing.
• Maintains a record of continuing education credits and completes yearly competency testing.
• May need to complete Restorative Nursing training within 6 months.
• Must be medically qualified to perform essential driving functions as per Sanford Driving Policy.

Qualifications

• Dependent on facility and required responsibilities, this role may classify as a Sanford Category II Driver.
• Must pass a drug screen and pre-employment background screening.

Skills

Strong interpersonal skills, ability to follow infection prevention and control policies, and proficiency in using Personal Protective Equipment are essential.
