Senior Cloud Security Engineer

About the role

The Senior Security Engineer role on the Cloud Security team at Robinhood focuses on protecting the company’s AWS cloud infrastructure and enhancing security capabilities for developers. This position is ideal for a well-rounded technologist with expertise in cloud security, particularly within Amazon Web Services (AWS). The team is dedicated to applying advanced technologies to solve significant financial challenges while maintaining a strong ethical foundation. In-person attendance is expected at least three days a week in one of the specified office locations.

Responsibilities

• Own the security posture for cloud infrastructure supporting all Robinhood products.
• Build and operate solutions that protect foundational infrastructure.
• Facilitate easier application protection for Robinhood developers.
• Build, configure, and set up systems with a safety-first approach.

Requirements

• Proficiency with Golang or Python and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform.
• Expert-level knowledge of AWS security services such as Identity & Access Management (IAM), Service Control Policies (SCPs), AWS WAF, and AWS Network Firewall.
• Strong command of industry best practices like the AWS Well-Architected framework and CIS Benchmarks.
• Experience securing enterprise applications on AWS by building software, services, and automation.
