Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join a team located in Bethesda, MD on a hybrid basis. The Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will design, build, and operate secure, scalable Microsoft Azure infrastructure supporting both enterprise IT workloads and modern application platforms. Responsibilities of the Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer: Design, deploy, and support Azure infrastructure including virtual machines, storage, backup, disaster recovery, and core platform servicesOwn reliability, performance, and lifecycle management of production Azure environmentsTroubleshoot and resolve infrastructure incidents across compute, storage, and networking Infrastructure as Code (IaC)Build and manage Azure infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM, or equivalent)Promote repeatable, version-controlled, and peer-reviewed infrastructure deploymentsReduce manual configuration and ensure consistency across environmentsDesign and maintain secure Azure network architectures, including Private Endpoints and Private LinkImplement hub-and-spoke and segmented virtual network designsEnsure secure connectivity patterns for PaaS and IaaS workloadsDesign and operate backup, restore, and disaster recovery solutions, including Azure Site RecoveryLead and participate in backup and recovery testingEnsure infrastructure meets business continuity and resiliency requirementsPartner with application development teams to support PaaS services and CI/CD pipelinesDesign secure app-to-service communication patternsTranslate application requirements into scalable Azure infrastructure designsWork closely with IT Operations, Security, and external partnersParticipate in planned maintenance windows and production changes as neededProvide infrastructure expertise during architecture reviews and incident response Qualifications of the Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer: 7+ years of experience in infrastructure, cloud, or systems engineeringStrong hands-on experience with Microsoft AzureExperience operating production cloud environmentsSolid understanding of Azure networking, security, and identity conceptsExperience supporting backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutionsProven experience implementing Infrastructure as Code in AzureExperience designing secure, private Azure networking architecturesFamiliarity with Azure Site Recovery, Azure Backup, and Azure SQL backup modelsExperience supporting modern application platforms in AzureFinancial services or regulated-industry experience is a plus Compensation for the Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer: Salary Range: $150,000+ *flexible based on experience*Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, and Sick Leave as required by lawFlexible working scheduleUnlimited opportunities for growth Key Words: azure, engineer, engineering, midcap, financial, iac, disaster recovery, apim, azure foundry, ai, microsoft, infrastructure as a code, site recovery, azure backup, sql, architecture, paas, design, operate, backup, restore, ci/cd, pipelines, secure environment
