About the role
The Cloud Engineer will design, engineer, and integrate the cloud environment that forms the foundation of the Client System. This role will implement and manage cloud services, optimize the cloud architecture for performance and cost, and ensure the environment is secure, scalable, and highly available.
Responsibilities
- Implement and manage cloud services
- Optimize the cloud architecture for performance and cost
- Ensure the environment is secure, scalable, and highly available
- Architect multi-cloud and hybrid cloud solutions to meet specific requirements
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to automate cloud resource provisioning
- Establish cloud governance policies and guardrails
- Design and implement cloud networking solutions including VPCs, subnets, and connectivity to on-premises resources
- Configure cloud security services and controls to protect cloud resources
- Implement cloud monitoring and logging solutions to provide visibility into operations
- Optimize cloud resource utilization to control costs
- Implement auto-scaling solutions to handle variable workloads
- Design disaster recovery and business continuity solutions for cloud workloads
- Evaluate new cloud services and features for potential adoption
- Maintain cloud architecture documentation
- Provide cloud expertise to other teams
Requirements
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or an additional 4 years of experience) in IT, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- 8 years of experience in cloud engineering, automation, and security in enterprise environments
- Must meet DoD 8140 requirements
Qualifications
- Security Clearance: Active Secret, Top Secret, TS/SCI, or TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance required, depending on position
Skills
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Knowledge of cloud architectures and design patterns
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
- Experience with cloud security tools and practices
- Ability to develop and maintain cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Pay
The base pay range for this position in the specified locations is $106,300—$221,100 USD.
