Senior Cloud Engineer / Architect

About the role

This position is responsible for designing, deploying, and managing enterprise cloud infrastructure across AWS and Microsoft Azure environments. The role involves implementing and enhancing enterprise cloud strategies, facilitating cloud migration initiatives, and ensuring compliance with security and governance best practices.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and ongoing enhancement of enterprise cloud strategies and shared cloud services.
• Perform system administration, automation, and development activities for the Cloud Management Platform (CMP).
• Aid with cloud migration initiatives and assist in the transition of enterprise applications to AWS and Azure.
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams and stakeholders to implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions.
• Maintain the availability, reliability, and performance of shared cloud services.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform.
• Design and implement enterprise cloud architecture and governance frameworks.
• Configure and manage AWS services including IAM, Organizations, networking, and cost management controls.
• Configure and manage Azure services including RBAC, Azure Active Directory, networking, and cost management controls.
• Automate cloud infrastructure deployment, configuration management, and operational processes.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and knowledge transfer to engineering and operations teams.
• Troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure, networking, and platform issues.
• Support DevOps initiatives, continuous deployment, and cloud platform operations.
• Ensure cloud environments adhere to security, governance, and organizational best practices.
• Document cloud architectures, operational procedures, and technical standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in Infrastructure Engineering, Systems Engineering, DevOps, or Cloud Architecture.
• 8+ years of experience in Technical Architecture.
• 5-7 years of hands-on experience with AWS, including IAM, Organizations, networking architectures, and cost management controls.
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including RBAC, Azure Active Directory, networking architectures, and cost management controls.
• 3-5 years of experience in Enterprise Cloud Architecture or Cloud Governance.
• 3-5 years of experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• 3-5 years of experience supporting Cloud Migrations and Cloud Platform Operations.
• 3+ years of experience providing technical leadership and knowledge transfer.
• Strong expertise in Public Cloud Infrastructure.
• 8+ years of technical architecture experience with relevant hands-on engineering expertise.

Qualifications

• Expertise with Terraform Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience with cloud scaling technologies and enterprise cloud solutions.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration technologies.
• Experience with cloud security, penetration testing, and threat detection tools.
• Experience using ServiceNow, Datadog, Dome9, and Aviatrix.
• Background in DevOps, Software Development, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Systems Engineering.
• Experience with configuration management and continuous deployment.
• AWS and/or Azure certifications are preferred.
