About the Role

JLL Technologies Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) team is a newly established central organization that oversees JLL's data strategy. We are seeking data professionals to work with colleagues at JLL around the globe to provide solutions, develop new products, and build enterprise reporting & analytics capability to reshape the business of Commercial Real Estate using the power of data. This role is a critical leadership position responsible for architecting enterprise-grade cloud solutions, leading automated deployment practices, and establishing engineering excellence standards that scale across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Cloud Architecture & Solution Design
    • Act as cloud architect for the Data Platform team, designing end-to-end solutions for enterprise needs across compute, networking, identity, storage, data, and messaging services.
    • Drive cloud architecture decisions across Azure and AWS, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, and cost-optimized.
    • Define and own disaster recovery strategy, including RTO/RPO targets, failover design, backup and restore processes, and DR testing across environments.
    • Understand end-to-end network segmentation across Azure, AWS, and on-prem, including VNet/VPC design, peering, VPN/ExpressRoute/Direct Connect, private endpoints, DNS, and hybrid/cross-cloud connectivity to troubleshoot and advise on architecture decisions.
  • Deployment Automation & GitOps
    • Architect and automate deployment solutions across cloud services, including AKS, serverless, API Management, data services, messaging/streaming, and storage.
    • Standardize CI/CD best practices, including pipeline design, branching strategy, automated testing, release gating, and rollback.
    • Drive GitOps adoption using ArgoCD for declarative, automated application deployment.
    • Lead infrastructure automation strategy using IaC (Terraform, Bicep, ARM, CloudFormation) across Azure and AWS.
    • Manage shared Kubernetes cluster architecture, including namespaces, multi-tenancy, RBAC, and workload isolation; understand cluster networking (CNI, network policies, service mesh) to troubleshoot.
  • Operational Excellence & Reliability
    • Support troubleshooting of networking issues across cloud and on-prem, including hybrid connectivity, load balancing, routing, and segmentation, with network engineering teams.
    • Establish observability standards (monitoring, logging, alerting, tracing) across services and connectivity layers.
    • Lead incident response and post-mortems for infrastructure and deployment issues, coordinating with network teams when connectivity spans cloud or on-prem.
    • Act as technical escalation point for complex architecture, deployment, and infrastructure issues.
    • Evaluate new tooling to improve automation, deployment speed, and reliability.
  • Team Leadership & Engineering Culture
    • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of DevOps/platform engineers, including hiring, performance management, and career development.
    • Embed DevSecOps practices throughout the deployment lifecycle in partnership with security and compliance teams.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in Cloud Architecture, DevOps, SRE, or Cloud Infrastructure Engineering.
  • 3+ years of people management experience.
  • Proven experience designing end-to-end enterprise cloud solutions, not just deploying to existing architecture.
  • Hands-on experience defining and implementing disaster recovery strategy (RTO/RPO, failover, backup/restore, DR testing).
  • Deep hands-on CI/CD expertise (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
  • Strong hands-on ArgoCD/GitOps experience.
  • Broad Azure and AWS experience, including networking, identity, storage, messaging, and managed data services.
  • Proven Kubernetes (AKS) experience, including shared/multi-tenant clusters, plus serverless.
  • Strong knowledge of end-to-end network segmentation across Azure, AWS, and on-prem, sufficient to troubleshoot hybrid and cross-cloud issues.
  • Strong IaC experience (Terraform, Bicep, ARM, CloudFormation).
  • Solid grasp of cloud security and IAM (RBAC, managed identities).
  • Strong cross-functional communication, especially with data engineering and network security teams.
  • Certifications a plus: Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Solutions Architect, CKA, or DR/BCP-related certifications.
