About the role

Oteemo is seeking a Senior Cloud Administrator and DevSecOps Architect to join our team of hands-on engineering consultants, supporting our customers' development, test, and production environments. This role is for an experienced Platform and Infrastructure Architect and Solutioneer, capable of identifying and implementing end-to-end solutions for large and complex systems across both cloud and hybrid on-premise environments.

You will function as a subject matter expert for the customer, leading a small team of Cloud Engineers to identify, propose, develop, and implement infrastructure and platform solutions. Candidates should have experience designing large system solutions and communicating them effectively with C-Suite leaders and non-technical staff. Experience as a team lead or managing a small team of engineers is required.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement end-to-end infrastructure and platform solutions for complex systems in cloud and hybrid environments
• Lead a small team of Cloud Engineers in developing and deploying solutions
• Act as a subject matter expert for customers on system administration, networking, and CI/CD pipeline administration in GitLab
• Administer Kubernetes clusters (AKS and on-prem K8S), including upgrades and maintenance
• Build and deploy container images using Docker/Podman/Helm
• Implement and integrate security tooling, including vulnerability assessments and scanning
• Develop and maintain infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, Chef)
• Automate development and infrastructure tasks using BASH and Python scripting
• Build and deliver engineering presentations for C-Suite leaders and non-technical audiences
• Test infrastructure, build machine and container images, and maintain system tooling

Requirements

• 8 years of experience as a systems administrator in Microsoft Azure, Kubernetes, and Linux
• At least one year of experience leading a team of engineers
• Experience building and delivering engineering presentations for C-Suite leaders and non-technical audiences
• Experience with Kubernetes (AKS, GKE, EKS, RKE2, K3D, OpenShift, etc.), with AKS preferred
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, and Linux administration
• Experience building and deploying container images in Docker/Podman/Helm preferred
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Terraform preferred)
• Experience with BASH and Python scripting for automation
• Hands-on experience automating development and infrastructure tasks
• Hands-on experience implementing and integrating security tooling into the operational stack
• Experience using AI for automation preferred
• Must have one of the following certifications:
  • Security+ CE
  • CySA+
  • GSEC
  • CCNA Security
• Preferred: Proof of completing a training or course in one of the following areas:
  • Linux+
  • RedHat
  • Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
• Preferred: Proof of completing a training course in Microsoft Azure in both of the following areas:
  • AZ-104
  • AZ-305
• US Citizen with Interim or Active Secret Clearance (required)
