Senior Cloud Architect

Location: Fort Mill, South Carolina (Onsite)

About the role

Define and develop cloud strategy, reference architectures, and target-state blueprints to support enterprise modernization initiatives. Lead application portfolio assessments and develop modernization/migration roadmaps including rehost, replatform, and refactor strategies. Establish cloud governance policies, guardrails, and standards aligned with business and compliance requirements. Design and oversee enterprise landing zones, multi-region network topologies, and secure baseline patterns for compute, storage, and databases. Embed security by design, ensuring compliance with frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, and PCI, while partnering with security teams to operationalize policies and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Define and develop cloud strategy, reference architectures, and target-state blueprints for enterprise modernization
• Lead application portfolio assessments and create modernization/migration roadmaps (rehost, replatform, refactor)
• Establish cloud governance policies, guardrails, and standards aligned with business and compliance needs
• Design and oversee enterprise landing zones, multi-region network topologies, and secure baseline patterns for compute, storage, and databases
• Embed security by design and ensure compliance with SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, and PCI frameworks
• Partner with security teams to operationalize policies and incident response

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in architecture/engineering with at least 5 years focused on cloud solutions, preferably AWS
• Proven experience delivering enterprise landing zones, multi-account structures, and secure network designs at scale
• Strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), configuration management, and CI/CD pipelines
• Hands-on experience with container platforms (EKS/ECS, Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless architectures
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
