Senior Clinical Laboratory Technologist, CF-CCHCS Region II Office (R2)
Job Description and Duties
Effective July 1, 2025, in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented in response to the status of the State budget. PLP 2025 requires each full-time employee in Bargaining Unit 1, 3, 4, 6, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, 18, 19, 20, and 21, and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees, will have their base salary reduced by 3 percent and will receive 5 PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes. Part-time employees are subject to the same conditions as full-time employees, on a prorated basis equivalent to their time-base. Permanent intermittent employees are subject to the same condition as full-time employees, based on the number of hours worked in the pay period.
The Senior Clinical Laboratory Technologist, CF performs or oversees the most difficult technical pre-analytical and post-analytical patient testing for the purposes of clinical treatment, medical diagnosis, health assessment or disease prevention. The Senior Clinical Laboratory Technologist, CF provides technical direction to lower level laboratory staff.
- Participates in quality assurance reviews
- Prepares administrative reports, statements, budget requests, and other documents required by administrative and medical staff
Maintains order and supervises the conduct of inmates and protects and maintains the safety of persons and property.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting
- Current certification as a Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT) or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS)
- Knowledge of clinical laboratory procedures and techniques
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Skills
While not required, the following skills would be beneficial:
- Experience with specialized laboratory equipment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Pay
The starting salary range for this position is $60,000 - $70,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience. Salary does not reflect the recent changes due to the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025).
Schedule
The Senior Clinical Laboratory Technologist, CF position(s) are full-time, permanent, and intermittent. The exact schedule will be determined during the hiring process.
