Job Summary

The Senior Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) - Automated Chemistry provides advanced technical expertise to perform, validate, and report clinical laboratory testing that supports clinical research studies. This role serves as a key technical resource within the laboratory by ensuring quality, regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and continuous process improvement.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Perform and report routine and specialized automated and manual chemistry testing with a high degree of accuracy and independence
  • Verify quality control results and release laboratory data in accordance with licensing requirements and established procedures
  • Support assay validations, method transfers, and implementation of new testing platforms and configurations
  • Maintain laboratory inventory levels, prepare reagents, and ensure uninterrupted daily laboratory operations
  • Investigate testing discrepancies, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives designed to enhance laboratory quality, efficiency, and performance
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation that supports laboratory operations, quality systems, and regulatory compliance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to achieve project goals and support successful study delivery

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Laboratory Science, Clinical Science, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • 2 years of relevant lab or clinical trials experience
  • Valid California State Clinical Laboratory License to perform laboratory testing
  • Working knowledge of Good Clinical Laboratory Practices (GCLP), Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Expertise with pipetting techniques and general molecular biology laboratory methods
  • Proficiency in laboratory calculations, quality control analysis, and interpretation of laboratory metrics

Potential Base Pay Range

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $58,800.00 - $122,500.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time).
