Accountix is an outsourced accounting firm in Santa Barbara. We have been doing this since 2015. There are 11 of us. Our clients are nonprofits and growing businesses, mostly between $2M and $25M in revenue. An outdoor concert venue. A nonprofit that trains women starting businesses. A children's mental health agency. Organizations where the work means something and the people are good to work with. We do not do tax. There is no busy tax season here. The role You own a portfolio of clients. The whole relationship, not just a queue of assigned work. You run the monthly financial review calls. You walk executive directors and business owners through their financials and explain what changed and why it matters. You get financials ready for board meetings, Finance Committee meetings, and audits. You lead the cash flow conversations and own the budgeting process. You play a major role in onboarding new clients onto our systems and workflow. On smaller engagements you are the senior financial voice in the room. On larger ones, you work alongside a Client CFO on strategy, forecasts, and modeling. That is deliberate. This is the seat that grows into CFO work, and we will help you get there. You will also help shape how we operate. If a close process or a reporting package needs to change, tell us and we change it. That is the conversation here, not a committee. Where you work from Anywhere in the US. Our clients are all on the West Coast. Our day runs on Pacific time and you need to be available roughly 8am to 3pm Pacific, with the occasional 4pm client meeting. Central time or west is the easiest fit. If you are further east and genuinely happy working mostly Pacific hours, tell us and we will talk. What We Are Looking For Experience in CAS, outsourced accounting, or fractional accounting, where you carried several clients at once. QBO mastery, with real depth in accrual close, financial statement review, and class or project tracking. You have led client meetings and explained financials to people who are not accountants. You are comfortable with executive directors, business owners, board members, and Finance Committee chairs. You can hand work to other people, track it, and review it. US W2 eligible. Nonprofit and restricted fund experience is a strong plus. So is budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and modeling in Excel or Sheets. If most of this sounds like you but not all of it, apply anyway. Our stack QBO, BILL, Ramp, Gusto, Karbon, Fathom. Modern, integrated, and kept clean. What You Get $105,000 to $130,000 base depending on your ability to manage MRR. Full benefits, 401(k), performance bonus, professional development, and periodic in-person meetups where we are all in the same room. Fully remote, permanently. Eleven people who care a lot about quality and very little about bureaucracy...and who genuinely enjoy being around each other. If this sounds right Apply here, or send me a message. I read all of them. Van Haas Founder, Accountix
