Senior Claims Representative

About the role

The Senior Claims Representative is a full-time position responsible for managing a caseload of complex claims from initial assignment through resolution. Based in Overland Park, KS, this hybrid role combines in-office work with flexibility to work from home part of the time.

Responsibilities

• Investigating claims
• Evaluating coverage, assessing liability and damages
• Determining appropriate reserves
• Cooking with policyholders, claimants, attorneys, and vendors
• Negotiating settlements within authority limits
• Ensuring timely, accurate documentation in claims systems
• Supporting continuous improvement by identifying trends, contributing to process enhancements, and maintaining compliance with applicable regulations and company standards

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in Claims Handling and Claims Management, including investigation, evaluation, and resolution of complex claims
• Strong knowledge of Insurance principles and practices, with experience in property and casualty lines and related regulatory requirements
• Hands-on experience with Property Damage claims, including estimating losses, coordinating inspections, and working with vendors or adjusters
• Proven Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, manage expectations, and maintain professional relationships with diverse stakeholders
• Relevant experience in risk management or claims environments, preferably in a corporate or third-party administrator setting
• Able to analyze data, make sound decisions, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
• Proficiency with claims management systems and standard office software
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience; industry certifications (e.g., AIC, CPCU) are a plus
