Senior Claims Analyst Severity
About the role
Join us as a Senior Claims Analyst Severity to contribute to the transformation of risk management at AIG. Handle complex claims involving bodily injury, wrongful employment practices, and property damage under Excess or Umbrella Commercial General Liability policies. Manage litigation, attend mediations and trials, assess liability and damages, and recommend reserves.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate wrongful death claims in New York, employment practices claims in California, and oil field explosion claims in Texas on the same day.
- Direct litigation, attend mediations and trials, assess liability and damages, and recommend reserves for claims ranging from auto accidents with moderate injuries to multi-claimant litigation with severely injured plaintiffs, wrongful death, burn injuries, or property damage claims in the millions of dollars.
- Present large value cases to senior management.
- Communicate effectively with insureds, brokers, attorneys, and claimants.
- Strategize and budget litigation of each claim through discussions with counsel, vendors, and insureds.
- Establish clear ground rules with defense and coverage counsel to maintain financial control of budget and expenses.
Requirements
- 3+ years of Commercial/Industry claims experience preferred.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal/written) and strong negotiation skills.
- Advanced experience and capabilities in litigation claims management including ADR and mediation process.
- Experience attending and controlling cases- pre-suit, litigated and post trial- at mediations, settlement conferences, etc.
- Property and Casualty licenses required, must be obtained within 6 months.

Pay
Base salaries range from $76,000-$103,000 for positions based in New Jersey, $70,000-$95,000 for positions based in New York, and $72,500-$96,700 for positions based in Chicago. Bonuses are also available in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
