Responsibilities
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary partners, coordinate with diverse engineering teams and ensure project success.
- Provide seismic/structural engineering support for advanced structural analysis and design, and seismic qualification of structures, systems, and components (SSCs) of nuclear facilities.
- Develop design studies, prepare engineering calculations and analysis, attend project meetings, perform a walkdown or mentor junior employees.
- Develop innovative design studies, define project scopes, and create accurate engineering estimates to drive project excellence.

- Participate in project meetings to discuss technical and project issues (e.g., design, scope, schedule, and budget).
- Bring fresh perspectives and innovative solutions to solve complex technical challenges and push projects forward.
- Execute essential civil/structural and seismic calculations that form the foundation of successful designs and installations.
- Prepare high quality, error-free engineering deliverables and reports according to industry codes, standards, regulations, and guidelines and in accordance with client and ENERCON Quality Assurance (QA) Programs.
- Maintain up to date and relevant knowledge of industry codes and standards, regulations, and design and analysis techniques suitable to the nuclear industry.
- Support proposal development including defining the technical scope, estimating the required level of engineering hours, and other project related costs.
- Interface with client personnel, and perform walk downs of plant structures, systems, and components related to the project work scope.
Qualifications
- Master of Science or Master of Engineering Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited university, or equivalent work and training in a related role.
- 7 years of post-graduate experience with advanced structural analysis and design.
- Experience with ANSYS.
- Experience in the nuclear industry.
- Experience in the design and analysis of concrete and steel structures, preferably at nuclear power plants.
- A thorough understanding of seismic engineering fundamentals and applications.
- Familiarity with major structural and mechanical systems, their seismic design basis, and the impact of seismic response on their safety functions.
- Experience in civil and structural analysis and design software such as ANSYS, GTSTRUDL, SAP2000, and STAAD.
- Knowledge of codes, standards, regulations, guidelines such as ASCE 7, ASCE 43, ACI 318, ACI 349, AISCA.
- Ability to gain and maintain unescorted access at nuclear sites.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and provide technical guidance to support staff.
- Ability and willingness to apply established technical knowledge to less familiar applications.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams.
- Flexibility to respond and adapt to client and project needs.
- Ability to travel between 15-25% of the time; duration of travel may vary depending on project and client needs, ranging from a few days to a few weeks.
Compensation
Compensation Range: USD $120,000.00 - USD $180,000.00 /Yr.
