Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical execution of complex civil engineering projects from planning and design through construction
  • Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, plans, specifications, and construction documents
  • Design and oversee civil infrastructure projects including grading, drainage, stormwater management, utilities, roadways, pavements, and site development for aviation facilities
  • Develop innovative engineering solutions while ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and client standards
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams, coordinating with planners, architects, engineers, project managers, and clients to deliver high-quality projects on schedule and within budget
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers through technical guidance, design reviews, and project leadership
  • Support business development by preparing technical proposals, participating in client presentations, and cultivating strong client relationships
  • Perform periodic field observations during construction to document project progress, verify work generally conforms to design plans and specifications, review erosion and sediment control measures, and communicate observations to the project team
  • Support construction administration by reviewing contractor progress, preparing field reports, documenting site conditions, attending progress meetings, tracking installed quantities, and assisting with resolving construction-related technical questions

Requirements

Minimum of 10 years of progressive civil engineering experience in civil site design, land development, municipal infrastructure, transportation, aviation, or other horizontal infrastructure projects

Professional Engineer (PE) license required

Strong experience designing site grading, drainage, stormwater systems, utilities, roadways, pavements, and other civil infrastructure

Experience using Civil 3D, AutoCAD, or comparable civil engineering design software

Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams, managing technical project delivery, and mentoring junior engineers

Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures, engineering standards, construction administration, and project delivery

Excellent verbal, written, and client relationship skills

Willingness to periodically travel to project sites to support construction observations and field activities

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred

Skills

Strong communication and leadership skills

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Knowledge of FAA standards is preferred but not required
