We are seeking a Senior Civil Project Engineer to lead the planning, design, and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. The role focuses on civil engineering for water/wastewater systems, including hydraulic modeling and detailed design using AutoCAD.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design and delivery of water and wastewater civil projects, including pump stations, treatment facilities, pipelines, and associated site work.
- Perform and oversee hydraulic modeling and analysis to support system planning, pipe sizing, pump selection, and system optimization.
- Prepare engineering reports, design documents, cost estimates, and permit applications; ensure regulatory and owner requirements are met.
- Cook up project teams, including internal staff, subconsultants, contractors, and clients; lead project meetings and present technical findings to stakeholders.
- Provide senior-level engineering judgment for hydraulic design, structural support, and constructability reviews.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers and technicians; promote quality control, best practices, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and risk; prepare progress reports and contribute to business development and proposal preparation where appropriate.
- Integrate telemetry, automation, and control system considerations into civil designs and collaborate with controls engineers to coordinate system integration and commissioning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline; Masters degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required if PE not yet held.
- 7+ years of progressive civil engineering experience with a focus on water and/or wastewater projects.
- Demonstrated expertise in hydraulic modeling and analysis (examples: EPANET, InfoWater/InfoWorks, HEC-RAS, or equivalent).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and production of construction-ready civil drawings; experience with Civil 3D a plus.
- Strong experience in hydraulic design, pump station design, and treatment facility layout and support.
- Working knowledge of telemetry, automation, and control system design and commissioning for water/wastewater systems is desirable.
- Experience preparing permit submittals, technical reports, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Proven ability to manage projects, lead multidisciplinary teams, and communicate effectively with clients, regulators, and contractors.
- Valid drivers license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
