Senior Civil Engineer Supervisor (Transportation)

About the role

The Department of Transportation seeks a Senior Civil Engineer Supervisor (Transportation) to lead maintenance and construction efforts. This role involves shaping safe and reliable transportation systems across the region.

Responsibilities

• Develop programs, estimates, and work plans for maintenance operations and future projects
• Review complex issues, perform technical evaluations, and recommend safe, effective solutions
• Oversee maintenance crews, assign tasks, inspect work, and support training and performance reviews
• Manage materials, equipment, permits, and emergency response activities for the assigned area
• Meet with local officials and partner organizations to discuss priorities and address project needs

Qualifications

• Minimum six years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty; and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists
• Five years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty; and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists
• An associate’s degree in civil engineering technology or a closely related engineering discipline; or two years of professional civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering discipline
• Possession of a valid driver’s license
• PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title
