What You Will Do

  • Manage and oversee the design and construction of public works, local infrastructure, municipal roadway, trails, drainage, and land development projects.
  • Plan projects based on the analysis of relevant materials such as drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, survey reports, maps, and other geologic and topographical data.
  • Use design software and drawing tools to accurately render and communicate designs.
  • Consult with and provide guidance to project stakeholders and managerial staff regarding engineering requirements for construction of various designs, modifications, and repairs.
  • Report and present plans to audiences with a wide range of backgrounds and technical knowledge, translating engineering and scientific information into easily digestible concepts.
  • Estimate materials, equipment, and labor needed to determine project costs.
  • Collaborate with surveyors (or direct and participate in surveying) to establish installations or reference points, grades, elevations, and other factors that will affect construction.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure design specifications, safety, and sanitation standards are met.
  • Perform design and plan production.
  • Manage clients and supervise technical staff.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to engineers, EITs, and technical staff, fostering a culture of trust and collaboration within project team.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • What You Will Need

    • Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering or ABET accredited equivalent engineering degree.
    • Professional Engineer (PE) License in Arizona.
    • At least 6 years of experience in local infrastructure and public works design.
    • AutoCAD Civil 3D CAD experience preferred.
    • Strong design and project management experience and knowledge of working with public entities.
    • Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
    • Must be proficient in project management, administration and supervision.
    • Ability to work in a team environment with multiple offices and various disciplines.
    • Positive attitude, self-directed required.
    • Willingness to develop a network of municipal clients and teaming partners.
