Engineering$124k–$200k/yrFull-time

At Jacobs, we challenge what is currently accepted, so we can shape innovative and lasting solutions for tomorrow. If you’re interested in a long and rewarding career working with the industry’s best and most innovative engineers, then Jacobs is where you belong.

About the role

We are looking for a driven, well organized, and client focused Senior Civil Engineering Professional to grow with our team in our Cincinnati, Ohio, Cary, North Carolina, Conshohocken, PA or Indianapolis, IN office locations. As a Senior Civil Engineering Professional you will collaborate closely with a full service EPCM team consisting of architects, landscape architects, structural engineers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, construction managers, and other disciplines. You will lead civil engineering teams from Concept Design through Construction, as well as provide civil engineering input to our Jacobs Architecture Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) as they develop feasibility studies, concept designs, and masterplans.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable working directly with clients. A person who has a firm grasp of land development, zoning, and building codes, as well as best practices, and construction detailing — plus excellent organizational skills and proficiency in 3-D analysis and modeling tools. An individual who is able to take civil engineering concepts and follow through with the necessary construction documentation, as well as coordinate with architecture and other in-house engineering disciplines. Someone who can continue beyond the engineering phase to assist with permitting efforts and construction activities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead civil engineering teams through the project execution process, including Concept Design, Basis of Design, Detail Design, Procurement, and Construction Support.
  • Provide civil engineering input for feasibility studies, concept designs, and masterplans.
  • Organize and supervise the work of other design professionals.
  • Perform construction administration activities: responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, preparing field observation reports, and punchlisting.
  • Coordinate work with engineering disciplines and specialty consultants, both independently and collaboratively.
  • Perform quality checking or accept and implement quality checking by others.
  • Work remotely and engage virtually with team members in different geographic locations.
  • Balance multiple priorities effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher-level degree from an ABET accredited engineering school.
  • At least 8+ years of applicable professional experience.
  • Professional Engineering license in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in the design process, construction documentation, construction administration, materials and methods of construction, as well as land development, zoning, and building codes.
  • National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) experience.
  • Advanced understanding of civil engineering design and their interrelationships with other disciplines.
  • Proficiency in storm drainage and stormwater management modeling.
  • Willingness to work in a hybrid environment, splitting your work week between Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations.

Skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills: speaking, writing, listening, including client presentation skills.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and AutoTURN.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, PowerPoint, and Bluebeam Revu.
  • Site planning and land development experience.
  • Familiarity with LEED and/or sustainable strategies.
  • Involvement in professional and/or community associations.
  • Ability to contribute to the development of new ideas, techniques, and standards.

Preferred Experience

  • Focus on Life Sciences projects including but not limited to Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, Light Industrial, and Light Chemical.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance.
  • 401(k) plan with company stock purchase options at a discount.
  • Deferred compensation plan or the Executive Deferral Plan for eligible employees.
  • Unlimited U.S. Personalized Paid Time Off (PPTO) policy for full-time salaried/exempt employees.
  • Seven paid holidays and caregiver leave.
  • Additional rewards for certain roles, including merit increases, performance discretionary bonus, and stock.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $123,600.00 to $200,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
