Senior Civil Engineer

About the role
The Reno office of SLR provides a full range of professional services on a variety of challenging and unique projects that include geotechnical engineering, earthworks and grading, stormwater design, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, environmental remediation, and construction quality monitoring primarily supporting projects within the mining industry.
The selected candidate will work under the supervision of a registered principal engineer and will mentor junior staff while directing their own projects and technical workflows to deliver on design, analysis, and preparation of specifications, calculations, and technical reports for a wide variety of mining projects.

Responsibilities
- Lead and take professional ownership of projects in a technical capacity
- Perform engineering work for industrial and mining projects
- Visit project sites for data collection, monitoring, investigations, and construction inspection services
- Utilize a variety of computer programs including AutoCAD Civil 3D and specialty software (e.g., HEC HMS, HEC RAS, GeoStudio, Rocscience) to undertake designs and computations
- Write memos and calculation packages to document work performed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Nevada, or the ability to obtain within 6 months
- Working knowledge of engineering software including Civil 3D, and depending on specialization: hydrology & hydraulics (HEC HMS, HEC RAS) or geotechnical design (GeoStudio, Rocscience)
- Possess a valid driver's license
- Willing to travel by car and airplane, including travel for domestic projects
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in civil engineering or related field
- Willing to travel for international projects

Pay
The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $125,000. Final agreed-upon compensation will be based on individual education, professional designation, experience, internal parity, and location.
