Senior Civil Engineer

Chattanooga Engineering Group, one of the largest civil engineering firms in southeast Tennessee, is hiring a senior civil engineer based in the Chattanooga, Tennessee area to provide design support for civil works, including water, wastewater, stormwater, and road projects.

Responsibilities

• Analyze surveys, long-range plans, maps, and other data to design new projects.
• Provide risk analysis while consulting budgetary, regulatory, and environmental factors.
• Prepare material, equipment, and labor cost estimates in financially responsible ways.
• Forecast and manage design and construction timelines.
• Effectively and proactively observe and complete the permitting process with appropriate agencies, ensuring compliance.
• Work remotely while representing CEG in the Chattanooga, Tennessee area.

Requirements

• 5+ years of land development experience.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license in the State of Tennessee (or the ability to obtain it within 90 days).
• Excellent knowledge of design and visualization software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar programs.
• Proficiency in site layout, grading, utility design, erosion control, and regulatory approvals.
• BS/MA in Civil Engineering.
