About the role

Kleinfelder is seeking an experienced Engineering Project Manager to join our growing Mid-Atlantic engineering team. The ideal candidate will join our high-achieving, fast-paced team to work on multi-disciplinary projects, with a focus on the utilities market. This position requires experience with land development and offers the opportunity for hybrid work. Travel within Maryland/DC for site visits and project meetings will be required.

This position can be based near: Mechanicsburg, PA; Hunt Valley, MD; Baltimore, MD; Washington, D.C.; Wilmington, DE; or Bridgeport, WV.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of project execution including project organization, delivery, subcontractor management, scheduling, financial management, health and safety stewardship, and reporting.
• Nurture and grow client relationships and contracts for complex, multi-disciplinary utility and pipeline projects.
• Lead, grow, and mentor staff while supporting their professional career goals.
• Oversee pursuits, designate resources, define client needs, address concerns, and manage engineering resources within budget.
• Lead and participate in technical, cost, and scheduling decisions for interdisciplinary teams, ensuring company quality standards and driving customer value.
• Devise new approaches to problems encountered.
• Collaborate on design and construction management projects, striving for continuous improvement in process development and execution.
• Build relationships with technical and client service teams and within client organizations.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external teams of clients and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Engineering required; Civil or Environmental Engineering degree preferred.
• 12+ years of related experience, including 5+ years of project management.
• Demonstrated project-related experience and knowledge of applicable federal, state (Maryland), and local laws and regulations.
• Experience with County land development regulations/regulators is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an accredited institution or acceptable equivalent.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license or ability to obtain PE within 6 months.

Preferred Skills

• Client-facing relationships with private energy companies.
• Experience with civil design for transmission and distribution projects.
• Proven track record of developing client relationships and growing programs.
• Leadership positions in industry or community organizations.
• Supervisory experience in training, developing, and mentoring junior engineers.

Pay

Maryland: The expected salary range for this position is $116,000.00 - $197,000.00, based on individual qualifications and experience.
