About the role
Bohler’s Mechanicsburg, PA office is seeking a Senior Civil Design Engineer who’s ready to take the next step in technical leadership. In this role, you’ll be deeply involved in all aspects of site design, grading, utilities, stormwater management, and permitting, while helping ensure design quality, constructability, and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Design and review grading, drainage, and utility plans for complex sites.
- Conduct zoning research and site feasibility analyses.
- Serve as a trusted technical resource for your team and contribute to the success of complex, high-profile projects across Central PA.
- Support project coordination with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Review design deliverables for accuracy, quality, and compliance.
- Collaborate with and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
- Perform hydrology, stormwater, and earthwork calculations using AutoCAD Civil 3D and design software.
- Contribute to project budgeting, workload planning, and task coordination.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related discipline).
- 5+ years of experience in land development design and permitting.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering software.
- Knowledge of local zoning, permitting, and construction requirements.
- Detail-oriented approach with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- PE license beneficial; EIT required or in progress.
Qualifications
- BS in Civil Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related software.
- Understanding of local zoning, permitting, and construction regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
