Key Responsibilities
- Lead factory commissioning and End-of-Line testing activities for industrial chiller systems.
- Operate and monitor chillers under various load conditions using load banks and factory test infrastructure.
- Verify operation of compressors and refrigeration circuits, pumps, valves and hydronic systems, condenser systems and fan assemblies, VFDs, motors and electrical systems, and safety devices, interlocks and flow verification devices.
- Validate unit performance including temperatures, pressures, flow rates, compressor staging, stability, and operational sequences.
- Controls & System Verification
- Interface with PLC/HMI systems to monitor and validate operation.
- Verify sensors, instrumentation, and field devices function correctly.
- Support verification of Modbus/BACnet communications where applicable.
- Confirm alarm functionality and sequence responses.
- Aid in controls-related troubleshooting and operational validation.
Troubleshooting & Technical Leadership
- Lead first-level troubleshooting of mechanical, refrigeration, electrical, and controls-related issues.
- Identify and document deficiencies discovered during testing.
- Cook with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to support corrective actions.
- Support root cause analysis and validation of repairs and rework activities.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to testing technicians and operators.
Documentation & Quality
- Complete and maintain commissioning documentation, test records, and reports.
- Ensure testing activities are performed in accordance with controlled procedures and standards.
- Maintain clear documentation of failures, corrective actions, repairs, rework, and retesting activities.
- Support continuous improvement of test procedures, execution methods, and reporting tools.
Safety & Operational Excellence
- Promote and enforce safe work practices within the testing environment.
- Maintain safe operation around high-voltage equipment, pressurized refrigeration systems, rotating machinery, and hydronic test systems.
- Identify and report unsafe conditions immediately.
