About the role

The Senior Chemical Operator role within Kodak's Specialty Chemical Division (SCID) involves managing and maintaining a product flow of various chemicals through the chemical processing equipment. This position aims to maximize output, product quality, and minimize waste.

Responsibilities

• Go through SCID operator training program with a primary focus on HSE, process equipment function/setup, operating procedures, and process operating techniques.
• Strictly adhere to division operating procedures regarding HSE, including chemical verifications, additions of chemicals, lifting procedures/policies, and required PPE with no exceptions.
• Show good interpersonal skills and work in a team-oriented environment.
• Have good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to express oneself clearly, read job-related material, and write effectively.
• Comprehend a variety of work requests and apply basic math concepts, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and calculating percentages.
• Maintain a clean work area, practice good 5S, and operate safely at all times.
• Work with and be exposed to various chemicals, some of which may be hazardous, requiring the use of prescribed and required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Be willing to work overtime or adjust work schedule for shutdowns and business needs.
• Show good analytical and trouble-shooting skills, knowing when to stop, call for help, and wait for assistance when issues or problems are confronted.
• Work 12-hour rotating shifts.

Requirements

• Manufacturing experience, preferably with a technical background in mechanical, electrical, or chemical fields.
• Good interpretation of procedures and adherence to HSE and process procedures.
• A desire to continuously improve oneself and processes using KOS tools and understanding lean manufacturing concepts.

Qualifications

• Experience level: 5-10 years.

Skills

• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Understanding of HSE and process procedures.
• Desire to improve processes and implement lean manufacturing concepts.

$24.00 - $28.00 per hour.
