Role Overview

Kodak is seeking Senior Chemical Operators to join their Specialty Chemical Division (SCID). These operators will oversee and maintain a continuous flow of various chemicals through processing equipment, aiming to optimize production, ensure product quality, and reduce waste.

Specialized Skills Job Expectations

  • Completion of SCID operator training program focusing on HSE, process equipment operation, procedures, and operating techniques.
  • Compliance with divisional HSE policies including chemical verifications, additions, lifting procedures, and required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal, with the capacity to express oneself clearly, read job-related materials, and write effectively. Must also have the ability to comprehend various work requests.
  • Proficiency in using computers and various databases and programs.
  • Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentage calculations.
  • Maintain a clean work area, adhere to 5S principles, and operate safely at all times.
  • Work with and be exposed to various chemicals, some of which may be hazardous, requiring appropriate PPE.
  • Regularly perform tasks involving walking, standing, and lifting, sometimes in awkward positions.
  • Willingness to work extended hours and adjust schedules for shutdowns and business needs.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, knowing when to stop, call for help, or wait for assistance when faced with issues or problems.
  • Capable of working 12-hour rotating shifts.

Desired Skills

  • Manufacturing experience, preferably with a technical background in areas like mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering.
  • Proven ability to interpret procedures and adhere strictly to HSE and process guidelines.
  • A strong commitment to personal and professional development, utilizing KOS tools and understanding lean manufacturing concepts.
