SENIOR CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT

About the role

The Florida Department of Veterans' Affairs seeks a Senior Certified Nursing Assistant to support residents at Ardie R. Copa's State Veterans' Nursing Home in Port Saint Lucie, Saint Lucie County, FL.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance with activities of daily living, including oral hygiene, bathing, dressing, grooming, hair and nail care, shaving, toileting, and meal preparation.
• Follow facility policies and dining room protocols.
• Routinely observe and report resident concerns and needs to supervisors.
• Escort residents to appointments as needed.
• Complete tasks promptly and accurately.
• Document all care provided using appropriate forms and electronic patient care documentation systems.
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure efficient use of supplies.
• Respond to resident call lights and notify nurses of changes in condition.
• Attend required facility training.
• Perform related work as directed.

Requirements

• Able to communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid Certified Nursing Assistant license in Florida.
• Able to work weekends and holidays.
• Basic computer skills.
• Pass a national background investigation and drug test.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant in a skilled long-term care facility.
• Current CPR certification.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Pay

Annual Non-Negotiable Salary: $37,420.76

Schedule

• Day Shift: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm (1/2-hour unpaid lunch)
• Night Shift: 11:00 pm - 7:30 am (1/2-hour unpaid lunch)
• Evening Shift: 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm (1/2-hour unpaid lunch)
