SENIOR CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT

About the role

The Florida Department of Veterans' Affairs is seeking a motivated Senior Certified Nursing Assistant to join Emory L. Bennett State Veterans' Nursing Home in Daytona Beach, Volusia County, FL.

Responsibilities

- Provide assistance with Activities of Daily Living nursing care, including oral hygiene, bathing, grooming, hair and nail care, shaving, toileting, and meals. - Routinely observe and report resident concerns/needs to the supervisor. - Complete tasks timely, accurately, and completely. - Perform restorative and simple nursing measures as outlined in the care plan. - Measure and record vital signs and intake/output according to the care plan. - Monitor for potential skin breakdown and report symptoms to primary nurses. - Use appropriate techniques for mechanical lifts, transfers, and positioning. - Provide end-of-life care and assist with Activities of Daily Living. - Respond to cognitively impaired residents or those with difficult behaviors. - Ensure resident safety devices are used as outlined in the care plan. - Escort residents to appointments and ensure efficient use of supplies. - Document all care given and maintain confidentiality. - Attend required facility training.

Requirements

- Current Florida licensure as a Certified Nursing Assistant. - Willingness and ability to work weekends and holidays. - Basic computer skills. - Completion of the employment screening process, including a national background investigation and drug test.

Preferred Qualifications

- One year of experience in a long-term care facility with a geriatric population. - Valid CPR certification.

Pay

Annual Starting Salary: $37,420.76, Paid Bi-Weekly.

Schedule

Multiple Shifts Available, Overtime Eligible. Qualified shifts (2:30 pm – 11:00 pm & 10:30 pm - 7:00 am) may be eligible for a $0.50 per hour shift differential.
