Are you ready to design your future? Be our next Senior Inspector for our Tampa, FL office to work on Florida Department of Transportation projects.

Responsibilities

  • Document all activities on site during duration of the contract and prepare inspection reports.
  • Oversee, document, review, and assess contractor’s compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Review construction documents and drawings in order to minimize issues and to reduce the potential for extra work orders during construction.
  • Take accurate and detailed measurements of all work performed by the contractor to ensure accurate payments.
  • Aid the Project Administrator with the review of contract submissions (critical path schedules, RFI’s etc).
  • Aid the Project Administrator with staff scheduling/coordination.
  • Attend progress meetings and provide feedback on ongoing construction and issues.
  • Supervise Junior Inspectors.
  • Inspect and test soils, concrete, steel and masonry materials for road and bridge projects.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Senior Inspector on Florida Department of Transportation projects in the Tampa, FL area.
  • High School diploma or equivalent plus (4) years of experience in construction inspection, two years of which shall have been in bridge/or roadway construction inspection.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • CTQP Concrete Field Inspector level I & II
  • CTQP Asphalt Roadway Inspector level I & II
  • CTQP Earthwork Inspector Level I & II
  • Advanced Maintenance of Traffic

Qualifications

  • Experience with FDOT construction and specifications desired.
  • Reading and interpreting drawings and specifications.
  • Observing general job safety practices.
  • Monitoring and inspecting the Work Zone Traffic Control in accordance with contract documents.

Skills

  • The ability to work as a team a plus.
  • Possibility of weekend and evening work as dictated by contract.
