Senior Category Manager
Position Summary
Serve as the primary contact for business operations and stakeholders. Act as a trusted advisor to internal teams and external customers. Lead and mentor other Category Managers. Manage supplier negotiations, contracts, and long-term relationships. Support operations with seamless procurement and supply chain solutions. Drive strategic sourcing and category management initiatives. Analyze supplier performance, pricing, contracts, and market trends. Develop and execute long-term category strategies. Ensure compliance with procurement policies and contract requirements. Lead technology implementations within Procurement. Manage supplier reviews, negotiations, corrective actions, and cost-saving initiatives. Prepare presentations, reports, and updates for leadership. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Must Have)
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience).
- 5+ years in a senior or lead role in category/commodity management (services, software, manufacturing, or MRO with indirect spend).
- Strong knowledge of purchasing, procurement, and supply chain best practices.
- Experience with category management and strategic sourcing methodology.
- Proficiency in ERP systems.
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
Preferred (Nice to Have)
- Certifications: CPM, CPSM, APICS.
- Advanced computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, data analysis tools).
- Experience leading supplier QBRs, negotiations, and corrective actions.
