Position Overview

Solid Power, Inc. is seeking a Senior Capital Projects Engineer (Equipment) to join our talented team working to revolutionize the battery industry through the development of next-generation materials for all solid-state rechargeable batteries. This position will be a key member of the Product & Operations team for the transition of Solid Power’s current electrolyte production technology to mass production.

Job Duties

  • Support equipment proposal/drawings review, system installation, qualification testing (FAT/SAT), commissioning, and documentation.
  • Support operation as a hands-on mechanically inclined engineer.
  • Support in the assembly, operation, and maintenance of new and existing equipment.
  • Support development of equipment maintenance procedures for all equipment to sustain equipment performance and reliability.
  • Investigate equipment related issues to provide root cause analysis and timely corrective actions.
  • Maintain end-to-end life cycle documentation for inventory of equipment and assets at Solid Power.
  • Maintain as-built drawing set for P&IDs.
  • Support Process Hazard Analysis and implement the appropriate layers of safety procedure.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years of industry experience in the materials production environment.
  • Experience of installation, commissioning, developing SOPs, and refining equipment design of new equipment under a commercial powder production environment is a plus.
  • Analytical skills for troubleshooting materials production equipment problems.
  • Interpersonal skills in developing positive working relations to interface well with other engineers, scientists, and operations personnel.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Solid Works, electrical diagrams, P&IDs, and general arrangement drawings is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary including, but not limited to eye protection, hair net, gloves, face mask, coveralls, full-face respirator or PAPR.

Salary Range

$104,000 - $156,000/year

This position could require access to technology, software and other information that is subject to governmental access control restrictions, due to export controls.
